Green Smoothies
When I visit our new urban home, I go out for a green smoothie. The other day I was putting together Ikea bookshelves in our 80 degree place (due mostly to the cooking of rice and beans in the kitchen) with Bethany (OK, she was doing most of the putting together and I was trying to let Fredrik scoot around on a small designated "clean" area), and I had had enough. I needed a walk to the Co-op (destined to be my mecca of familiarity). We loaded up the umbrella stroller and took a walk to Mississippi Market. To Beth's disgust, I bought a 16 oz. freshly juiced Cuke Skywalker, complete with cucumber, parsley, celery and apple. Yum. No really, it is good. Bethany scoffed and I assured her, she would hate it if she tried it. On the way back we took Summit since it was dark outside and it's well lit and populated and I thought, you know, whatever happened to going out for a beer? Since when do I go our for a Cuke Skywalker to wind down? Then I started to think of other things that I miss since I've had a baby. Mostly, I miss having a fully functioning brain.

Finally, an Update.
Life is chaotic. I don't know if it really is, or if that is just what it seems like when I'm sleep deprived. Actually I do know that that is the case since last Saturday night Fredrik slept from 11:00-4:30 and I thought I was a new woman. LAst night he was up SIX TIMES. He loves to sleep in our bed with all three of us in it, apparently. I prefer it as well.
Here is a list of what's been happening at our places:
The Farm: we barely missed a frost last night, according to the internet and my parents, we've been harvesting a lot of tomatoes, this weekend we have a big work day (anyone is welcome to participate!!!!!!!!-it's Saturday, all day, and we're hoping to harvest the rest of the potatoes, carrots, winter squash, and trim and bag all the onions curing in the hay loft, fun fun fun!), and the CSA continues as well as day-to-day cleaning, cooking, baby rearing. I wish I could add packing to the list but I can't.
New Place in "the cities": Cleaning, cooking(nothing great, it's hard without all of our kitchen gadgetry) and baby rearing, a quest for some new hip yet affordable clothing, stroller rides to Mississippi Market, frequent IKEA runs, and avoidance of neighbors since I'm not used to seeing people all the time and I don't know how to act. I've had some awkward experiences thus far.
Fredrik is probably feeling like our life is in a whirlwind.
The weirdest part with Peter being gone is that I am in charge of Fredrik all the day and night. Right now I asked him to be in charge of him for a couple hours, even though I am about 10 feet away. He's giving FGH a bath, the first time he has done it without my assistance. It took him about 15 minutes to get everything "prepped" and ready to go. Funny.
